Hi, I’m Camella, owner of Beso NZ.

I developed Beso because of my own fussy skin and the frustration it brought me. I couldn’t find anything that didn’t make my skin break out, flare up with eczema or hurt, so I took matters into my own hands (and my Kenwood mixer).

Soon, what started as a selfish project grew, as friends and family became interested in the delicious products I was whipping up in my kitchen.

The very first Beso products that went to sale were my lotion bars and my lime and vanilla body butter. They were far from perfect, but they were mine. I had created them, I had poured energy and love into them, and it turned out my family and friends saw the value in my work.

I was inspired to keep developing and creating, and very soon had a line of natural skincare products and customers that wanted to buy them.

Believe me, I was surprised every time I received a new order, and to be honest that feeling never went away! To think that people would want to invest in my little business seemed inconceivable, and yet here we are 10 years on! 

Things look a little different now. I’m no longer working in a corner of my kitchen – I now have a proper lab and a spacious studio, where I welcome anyone who wants to stop by to sample my products and enjoy a cuppa.

Also, you’ll no longer find the original body butter or lotion bars on my shelves, but I am proud to say that I supply a full range of natural skincare products that cover most needs, and that I can stand by 100%. How could I not – I use every single one of them every day!
