Meet CamellaHi, I’m the creator behind BESO NZ

BESO is one of my proudest achievements, and I’m so glad to be able to share the joy it brings me with you.

I created BESO because of my own fussy skin. The kind that breaks out, flares up with eczema, or stings at the slightest provocation. After years of frustration and disappointment, I decided to take matters into my own hands, and my Kenwood mixer.

What started as a very selfish project quickly grew. Friends and family began asking for the products I was whipping up in my kitchen, and before long, BESO was born.

The very first products I sold were lotion bars and a lime and vanilla body butter. They were far from perfect, but they were mine. I had created them with intention, care, energy and love, and it turned out others could feel that too.

Ten years on, I’m still amazed every time a new order comes through.

Your perfect foundation, finally!

Finding the right foundation can feel impossible. Pre-made shades rarely match skin tone, texture or undertone properly, yet we are expected to settle for close enough. At BESO, I believe you deserve better.

After years of creating, testing and refining, I developed a handmade shea butter-based foundation that I custom tint to match your skin perfectly. During a one-on-one consultation at my home studio, we create your foundation together, tailored to your complexion, coverage needs and skin behaviour.

If your skin changes with the seasons, simply bring your jar back and I will re-match it for free, as long as there is product left. One jar can carry you through the entire year.

  • Initial consultation including 50ml custom foundation: $90

  • Refill: $70, no re-consultation needed

BESO was created from a desire to love skin better by ruling out as many toxins and synthetics as possible and replacing them with natural, nourishing ingredients instead.

Using what comes from the earth, oils, butters, botanicals and essential oils, I create skincare and cosmetics designed to work with your skin, not against it.

Today, BESO NZ offers a carefully curated range of natural products, covering most skincare needs. Everything is handmade, thoughtfully formulated, and used daily by me.

If it’s not good enough for my skin, it doesn’t make it onto the shelf.

Things look a little different now.

I no longer work from a corner of my kitchen. BESO now has a dedicated lab and studio, where I welcome visitors to sample products, ask questions and enjoy a cuppa.

BESO is all about the personal touch. I love spending time with my clients, offering informed skincare advice, makeup services, and guidance around essential oils, aromatherapy and natural ingredients.

Your skin has to last a lifetime. I’m here to help you care for it properly.

Camella was the makeup artist of choice for my daughter Ashleigh’s wedding – wow what a great experience. My grandies loved her from the get go and she slotted into the day perfectly! The wedding was held on a family friends farm 20 mins south of Rotorua and Camella travelled from Tauranga to look after us all. Carmella brought with her everything needed for a fabulous day we all got to experience Camella’s custom made Beso foundation, so we were all beautifully colour matched for the day, we all had individual make up looks created on the day. Painstakingly patient with us all, her professionalism and skill shone through resolving any and all challenges that arose on the day ensuring we were all happy with the resulting looks she created.
